I learned a new word today that I think is worth sharing, in light of our present county bureaucracy.  Hubris:  extreme haughtiness, pride or arrogance.  Hubris often indicates a loss of contact with reality and an overestimation of one’s own competence or capabilities, especially when the person exhibiting it is in a position of power.

Think about the statements, postures and attitudes of the commissioners and Marty Lambert during all their various attempts to impose THEIR “whims”, against the will of the people, in the various zoning debacles and the law enforcement pay scandal, Marty Lambert’s attempts to thwart the petition process and his subsequent statement that he would “defend the constitutionality” of the process and Murdock’s statements regarding “picking a sheriff who will play nice in the sand box with the county attorney and the commissioners”.

Hubris:  a loss of contact with reality (the people) and an overestimation of one’s own competence or capabilities… assuming they are all powerful—-an overestimation??

Now, you and I both know exactly what HUBRIS looks like.  If you are content with hubris just keep Steve White in office.  He will not fight for your rights.
