Dear Denny,

I received your letter asking for support for your run for the senate seat of Jon Tester.  Unfortunately my political views have changed due to the lack of honor and integrity of many so called republicans.

Here in Gallatin County we have 3 county commissioners and a county attorney who all claim to be republicans but who are, in fact, the worst kind of progressive, socialist democrats I have had the displeasure of knowing.  I have been a strong conservative republican all my life and have actively and financially supported conservative republican values and candidates for many, many years.  As you know, I have supported you for years.  However, the abuse and corruption by these four Gallatin county republicans; Joe Skinner, Bill Murdock, Steve White and Marty Lambert has made me extremely distrustful of the Republican Party here in Montana.  If their actions and policies are to be considered republican then I am definitely NOT a republican.  They have declared the U.S. Constitution to be null and void in Gallatin County.

I saw on the 6:00 news last night that you made a visit to Bozeman to discuss how to increase jobs and get our Montana economy going strong again.  I do not have to tell you that small business is the backbone of the economy.  I wish I had known that you were coming I would have liked to meet with you to explain just how the unconstitutional abuse by these RINOs has hurt small businesses, like mine, as well as the republican Party.

I have spent 29 years trying to grow my business here in Gallatin County but now because I no longer have the protection of the U.S. Constitution I am forced to try to sell out and start over in a county where, hopefully, my Constitutional rights to my property and to the fruits of my labor can and will be enforced.  As we saw in this past mid-term election; we the people want a return to the U.S. Constitution as it was designed and intended by the founding fathers.

Last year I sent you a copy of the book “The 5000 Year Leap”.  I hope you have read it and I hope you will continue to refer to it for the duration of your time in politics.  It truly is the one and only thing that can restore this country’s greatness.  The only way to restore the Republican Party and republican values is to better police the party at all levels of government.  All politicians, at all levels of government, swear an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.  Therefore, in my mind, the oath sworn requires all who take it to work to police any and/or all others who have sworn that same oath but have chosen to dishonor the oath thereby making them, de facto, domestic enemies of the Constitution.

In “The 5000 Year Leap” page 165 it says, “The founders looked upon ‘upon government’ as a volatile instrument of explosive power which must necessarily be harnessed within the confines of a strictly interpreted constitution or it would destroy the very freedom it was designed to preserve.”  Thomas Jefferson said, “In questions of power, then, let no more be said of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.”  James Madison said, “The purpose of a Constitution is to define the area in which a public official can serve to his utmost ability, but at the same time provide strict limitations to chain him down from mischief.”

I realize that you, personally, do not have the power to police our corrupt county bureaucrats but you could, personally, let them know that their abuse of the Constitution is detrimental to the Republican Party and the economy of our state and country.  You could encourage the Montana Republican Party to investigate RINOs at all levels of government and publish a rating scale much like is done by the NRA and NFIB.

Until I see the Republican Party better united in republican values and making an effort to police its ranks at ALL levels of government I will be reserving my support for individual candidates of any party who support the strict interpretation of the Constitution as it was intended by our founding fathers.

The great strength of the tea party has been, and will continue to be, its notion of strict adherence to the Constitution and the principles of government as intended by our founding fathers.  Anything less is a violation of the oath of office.

I will be watching the senate race with great interest, and I will definitely vote, but my days of financial support have been curtailed by the dishonorable abuse of the Constitution, on the part of our county REPUBLICANS, which has forced me to lose the “fruits of my labor” over the past 29 years.

Sincerely,

Peter Rothing

  • P. S.  I do not know if this will actually get to you.  Last year when I wrote to you I did not even get a generic “thank you for your concern” dismissal letter.  I do not know if your aides throw these letters away.  I do hope you have read “The 5000 Year Leap”.
